Big crowds both nights witnessed some hot action. Friday night Barbarian edged out Rockstar in the racing. California Kid killed them in the wheelie contest as he rolled over on his top for the first time with his new '34 Ford body and Barbarian bounced back to take the freestyle win. In the 2wd pulling class it was Sonny Martinez in Taz and his 2nd truck, In Sync, taking down the top two spots. Donald Nelson aboard the Texas Bullwhip beat Cameron Neaves and Cotton Candy by less than a foot in the modifed tractor class. Saturday night it was Barbarian and Rockstar in the racing finals again and it was the Barbarian taking it two nights in a row. The wheelie contest was a close one with a clap-off needed between Rockstar and Barbarian. It was the Barbarian that got the trophy by edging out Bill Payne ever so slightly. Not to be outdone by the Devin in the Barbarian again, Bill Payne and his Rockstar came out for freestyle on a mission. He rocked the place and took home the freestyle win! In the 2wd trucks it was Sonny Martinez taking 1st and 2nd again, something never before done at the O'Reilly Outlaw Nationals. Congrats to Sonny! The Texas Bullwhip stepped it up a notch and put a little over 12' on the rest of the field to take the big win. |
